SPIRIT WEEK

Tuesday: Team Day - wear your favorite sports team

Wednesday: Wear the color of the subject you love most. Social studies is black, ELA is red, Encore is purple, Math is green, PE is orange, and Science is blue.

Thursday: Wear what is on your playlist. Your favorite band or artist.

Friday: Wear your DP spiritwear, or school colors.

Saturday: Wear something Route 66 related or Drauden Point spiritwear.

HOMECOMING PARADE

This SATURDAY at Central High School

Come join us at the Plainfield Homecoming is Saturday, September 26th. This year Drauden has a flaot, "Rt66 Road Trip Radio" in the parade. We are looking for students, families and staff that would like to walk with us and hand out candy. If you are interested please comeplete the Google document. Please fill in the Google form by Wednesday, September 23rd if you are planning on walking with us. For students and staff walking in the parade with Drauden, we will have munchkins and juice available to enjoy while waiting for the parade to start.

LAST CALL - STUDY HALL CANDY CONTEST

The PTO is hosting a CANDY CONTEST by grade level for the parade.

The study hall that brings in the most candy by Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026 will earn "Connie Time" and a special treat. Please make sure that every bag of candy is marked with the study hall teacher's name.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Sign up to join Battle of the Books!  Pick up an application from the library or your ELA teacher. Applications due Monday, September 28th. Email Mrs. Licata at clicata@psd202.org with questions or if you would like to have an application emailed to you.

PANTHER CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS

Do you have what it takes? Then join our 7th and 8th co-ed cheer team!

Informational meeting: Monday, September 28th, in room 218 at 3:05pm to 3:20pm

Clinics: October 8th & 9th from 3:00pm to 4:45pm

Tryouts: October 13th, starts at 3:30pm

7th GRADE OUTDORR EDUCATION

Hello 7th Grade Panther Families,

Our 7th grade Outdoor Education Field Trip to Camp Shaw is the absolute highlight of 7th grade, and we don't want your child to miss out on this incredible experience!

Informational packets with required forms and permission slips were sent home last week. We know how easily these can get buried in a folder or forgotten in a locker, so please check in with your student today to ensure you receive theirs.

All completed forms and permission slips are due by Friday, October 2nd.

Meeting this deadline is critical so we can finalize logistics, order necessary supplies, and secure a spot for every single student. Our goal is 100% participation—we want every Panther there!

If you have any questions or need a replacement packet, please reach out to us right away. Thank you for your prompt help in making this trip a success!

Staff Contest WInner is Mrs. Ramirez! Congratulations!

We are holding a contest for PTO Family Memberships. If you join the PTO with a PAID membership, you will be entered in a raffle for a free Spirit wear item of your choice. Membership is $10.00. If you already joined with a PAID membership you will be included in the raffle. Deadline to join is Friday, October 2nd. The winner will be chosen at our October PTO membership meeting. You do not need to be present.

Join today and make an IMPACT! By joining PTO, you are not commiting your time, but simply helping support our school. The volunteer efforts put forth by the PTO at DPMS benefit the entire middle school community of students, and staff.

Volunteer Opportunities:

We will work in the Student Support Center (S.S.C.) so volunteers will need to come and leave through the "E" door. The "E" door is on the side of the building by the field, right past the gym.

Monday's & Wednesdays before school at 6:45am

Tuesdays after school at 3:00pm

Saturdays: 5th & the 19th from 9:00 - 11:00am

Club Fuse is back, and it’s time to kick off an amazing new year! 

Calling all BUDDIES: our very first meeting of the year is officially here! If you're ready to make new friends, hang out with great people, and help build a school community focused on inclusion, acceptance, and fun, this is where you need to be.

We can't wait to see all the familiar faces returning and welcome plenty of awesome new ones to the crew!

The Details:

• Who: Club Fuse Buddies ONLY (Note: This event is specifically for Buddies; FBI or Select friends will join us at a later meeting!)

Looking for a fun place to hang out, make new friends, and play awesome games? Come check out the Game Club! Whether you love board games, card games, or are looking for a spot to meet up with your Dungeons & Dragons group, there’s a table for you.

HOMEWORK CLUB & FRIDAY SCHOOL

Need directions again? Want a teacher to show you what to do? Come to Homework Club.

Homework Club: is every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:00-3:45pm in room 106. homework Club is a quiet place for all students to complete schoolwork after school hours. A teacher will be available to assist with work and answer any questions. No pressure, just a casual place to get work done. Students can simply show up, sign in, and get to work. No club pass required. In cases of work completion concerns or excessive absence, attendance may be required by teachers, administrators, or parents.

Friday School: is every Friday from 3:00-6:00pm in room 111.

Both are great ways for kids to get help with their homework with teacher assistance.
