I graduated from Lewis University with my Elementary Education Teaching Degree and began my teaching career in Darien School District as a 6th grade Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies teacher for 6 years. I earned my Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science at Dominican University and am enjoying my 5th year working in the Media Center at Drauden.

LRC Policies

• Students visit the library every other week with their ELA class. Students need their ID to check out books.

• Books are checked out for two weeks.

• Book due dates are stamped on the inside cover of the book to remind students when they are responsible for returning their books.  If a student is absent on their library day/ due date, they are responsible for returning their book when they are back to school.

• Overdue fines are 10 cents per school day.

• Students are responsible for taking care of the books and returning the books in the same condition they received them.

LRC SERVICES

• Hosts a school-wide "Battle of the Books" each year with the winners moving on to the District "Battle".

• Hosts 2 book fairs each year

• Provides tech support for laptops.

• Provides replacement ID cards at a cost of $5, lanyards for $2 and a plastic pouch for $1 .
