National Junior Honor Society
Membership in National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a student. Our chapter strives to give practical meaning to the Society's standards of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. The NJHS strives to recognize the total student, one who excels in all of these areas.
Students inducted into the Drauden Point Chapter of NJHS will be expected to:
Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 4.85 (on a 5 point scale)
Be an active participant in NJHS - attend meetings and volunteer at school community events
Complete 20 hours of individual community service their 8th grade year
Demonstrate leadership, good citizenship and character at Drauden Point and in the community
If students meet the chapter's scholarship GPA requirement by the spring semester of their 7th grade year, they will receive an eligibility letter along with an application. Each member must demonstrate not only good grades, but also strength in each of the remaining four criteria (service, leadership, character, and citizenship). Applicants will be reviewed by our five-member Faculty Council who will select members who meet the society's standards of leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
